Piala — Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use apply to the Piala app by Kurbanbek Kalysov (“we”). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These Terms supplement the Standard EULA; if they conflict, the Standard EULA prevails as to the licence to use the app.

2. Not medical advice

Piala provides estimates for general nutrition tracking. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Calorie targets are estimated with the Mifflin–St Jeor equation and standard activity factors; nutrition values come from USDA FoodData Central and, for most regional dishes, recipe-based estimates. Real values vary with recipes and portions. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before changing your diet, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes, an eating disorder or another medical condition. The app is for adults aged 18+.

3. AI recognition

Photo recognition is performed by a third-party AI service after you consent (see the Privacy Policy). Results can be wrong: always check the dish, portion and oil before saving. You can add meals manually at any time.

4. Subscription

• Piala Pro is required to use the app after onboarding. It is an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or yearly). The yearly plan may include a free trial for eligible users; price, period and trial are shown before you confirm.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the period.
• Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Prices in the App Store are authoritative. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

5. Fair use of photo scans

To keep the service affordable and available, photo scans are subject to fair-use limits (currently a few scans per minute and 25 per day per device), which we may adjust. Manual logging is not limited. Do not send images that are unlawful, that show other people without their permission, or that are unrelated to food, and do not try to access our server other than through the app.

6. Apple Health

Writing to Apple Health is optional. You decide which values you save; check them before saving.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is”, without warranties of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or lost profits, or for decisions you make based on the estimates. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be limited by contract.

8. Termination and changes

You may stop using the app at any time. We may change or discontinue features, including the recognition service, and update these Terms; the date above shows the latest version.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.
